Gerard Nolan, a native of Ireland, founded Cashel Entertainment when he noticed that there were no entertainment companies in San Diego that were offering professional quality Irish music. Cashel Entertainment is the only music production company in San Diego that specializes in traditional Irish music and is Irish owned and operated. This unique feature allows Cashel Entertainment to bring you an authentic Irish sound. Cashel Entertainment also offers live music in a variety of other musical genres. The goal of Cashel Entertainment is to provide an enjoyable and unique listening experience that will highlight any event.
Owner and music coordinator Gerard Nolan was born and raised in Dublin Ireland. Gerard is an accomplished musician, composer, and arranger, specializing in woodwind instruments. Gerard has been performing professionally in a wide spectrum of musical genres for 22 years. He began his music career at the age of nine in the Artane Boys band, a firm fixture of Irish music culture since its establishment in 1872. Former band alumni include Larry Mullen, Jr. of the band U2. The Artane band continues to perform regularly at the GAA games at Croke Park. Gerard was also a member of the Irish Army band, performing at various military and civic events for national and international dignitaries. Gerard moved to the United States and completed courses in music studies in New York City and Los Angeles, and earned a degree in music from San Diego State University. Gerard has appeared with The O’Jays, Gilbert O’Sullivan, and Louis Stewart, and continues to perform regularly. The connections Gerard has made performing with first class musicians allows him to choose from only the best talent for Cashel Entertainment events.
One of Gerard’s biggest accomplishments with Cashel Entertainment was the 2006 premiere of “A Celtic Christmas Celebration” at the North Park Theatre in San Diego, California. “A Celtic Christmas Celebration” is a thrilling concert featuring Christmas carols performed on traditional Irish instruments and highlighted by singing and Irish dancing. Cashel Entertainment is excited to announce the return of “A Celtic Christmas Celebration,” this December 6th at the Birch North Park Theatre San Diego, California. This event promises to fill the participant with plenty of Christmas spirit to last the whole season long. |
